Why replace wood siding with vinyl siding?

Protecting the exterior of your home is essential to protect your investment for the long-term. Wood siding often fails over time, leading to rot and mold growth that slowly penetrates the interior walls of your home. It also requires regular maintenance with paint, whereas vinyl siding is easily pressure-washed. Our team will remove your existing wood siding, repair anything necessary, and re-side your home in vinyl that will hold up to water best over time.

When to replace windows and doors?

It's best to replace your windows and doors at the same time that you're re-siding your house. This allows you to opt for new construction windows that have integrated flanges that make them more waterproof than replacement windows. Our team will help you select the best windows for your specific needs.

How do I know if I have rot on my house?

The easiest way to tell if your wood siding is failing and creating rot issues is to look for spots beneath windows with bubbled paint that are soft when you press on them. If you can easily chip away at the wood planks or shingles, it's time to replace your siding. Our team can help you to diagnose, remove and repair any water damaged material on your home's exterior.

Complete exterior renovation with new siding, windows and doors

When we were introduced to this 1960s colonial, it was still sporting its original, heavily water-damaged cedar shingles and a rotted doghouse to access the basement. To bring this home back to life, we pulled out all the stops: replacing water-damaged plywood, framing studs and joists, replacing all exterior doors and windows, adding new vinyl siding, corners, soffits, fascia, rake boards, gutters and downspouts.  Now that we’re finished, this house is sealed, sound, and ready for decades of performance in New England weather.

Exterior facelift with new siding and roofing

This home desperately needed an update, dealing with serious wear and rot. Our customer used this necessary renovation as an opportunity for a major refresh, choosing a timeless palette of Evergreen and sophisticated Platinum Gray.

For this project we:

  • Fully removed old materials, addressed all damaged plywood across the roof and sidewalls
  • Installed Evergreen CertainTeed Pro shingles over a fully waterproofed base of ice and water shield and synthetic underlayment
  • Combined Alside Platinum Gray vinyl cedar shakes on the front facade for texture, with matching vinyl plank on the rest of the home
  • Added all new trim, fascia, soffit, gutters, downspouts and replaced two windows.

This home is now built to withstand the elements and look stunning for decades.
